From first-time gym users to professional athletes, the vision at ISC is to create a
facility which can accommodate and develop any individual. Each member
is unique and has unique training goals. The ethos of ISC is to work with them
individually at each stage of their training.

PROGRESSION

Each member has a different motive for training

Our role is not to judge but to guide. To bring out the best in each member and help them realise their potential. We want the end result to be a celebration of each victory, each time a goal is reached, each time something is achieved thought to be unachievable. ISC should provide a platform for each member to progress and use their training.

Beginner

‘Intimidated’ and ‘nervous’ are two words that restrict many people from beginning their fitness journey. With our personalised approach and experience of the fitness industry, starting your journey at ISC should feel like an exciting and fulfilling experience.

Intermediate

Maintain your form

After a period of time, training can plateau and progression may slow down. Designing a more focused training plan and setting short and long-term goals will establish a clear focus and provide the motivation and accountability you need to keep your training on track.

Advanced

Developing Athlete Programmes

We take pride in working with professional athletes and high-level individuals at ISC. Using the personalised approach we do for every member, tracking and progressing training sessions becomes more important to ensure they are not only maintaining a high level, but building on it.

Getting Fit for the Infamous Fan Dance

I have been training with ISC since 2012 and have enjoyed the whole journey. Learning about training and nutrition; the support of the group and coaches; sharing recipes and training tips; it’s all been amazing. I didn’t expect such a noticeable change in my body. The foods that I've been eating have given me more energy and helped me to build on my fitness. The personal programme training at ISC, Open Gym and group sessions complement each other perfectly. It gave me the confidence to take on the massive challenge of the Fan Dance in January 2018. I can't thank the coaches at ISC enough.

Keeping in shape through competitive training

I have been coming to ISC for over two years, having initially been recommended by a friend. A combination of healthy eating and the excellent work of the coaches has resulted in me losing over two stone, which I have managed to keep off. I love working out at ISC – I enjoy the competitive nature of the workouts and the challenges being set by the coaches. As an ex-rugby player, I have a few injuries that cause pain or discomfort if overloaded. The coaches have spent time suggesting alternative movements or slight adjustments to moves that have made a massive difference to how I feel the following day.

Reaching peak fitness for the new season

My overall fitness, which had improved since joining ISC, started to plateau a bit in early 2017. At the end of the 2016/2017 hockey season, I decided I needed to do something about my weight and drastically improve my diet. Shifting some weight and generally eating better had a massive impact on my training at ISC and I now train up to six times a week alongside playing hockey. I am more confident and (slightly) more willing to try new things, such as in-house comps, Olympic lifting in my Personal Programme and advanced Conditioning classes, which I would never have considered before.

CONDITIONING

A combination of resistance training, bodyweight and cardio, delivered at an intensity relevant to each individual in the session.

Olympic lifting sessions aim to develop the strength and technical ability in performing the lifts.

A timetabled session without constant supervision from our coaches, though they are always on hand if you need them.
